3D modeling from scans data
|
Reconstruction
and modernization of industrial objects with complex spatial engineering
structures, communications and equipment often requires exact information on
their spatial attitude.
Sometimes even project documentation cannot solve this
problem, as it does not visualize relative position of the new and old
equipment, communications and engineering structures.
The real situation can be
quite different from the design and the risks for complex production lines are
very high. Besides, now it becomes increasingly common to design objects using
special software that can use as-built 3D model of an object as input data.
High
accuracy 3D as-built model can be created with 3D scanning technology. Accuracy
level of the model depends on the object function and significance and should
correspond to designers’ requirements.
3D scanning
technology can be used for many different types and size of objects. Scan data,
then can be used as a base for modeling. Depending on requirements and type of
scanned objects 3D models can consist of geometrical primitives (planes,
cylinders, spheres, etc.) or highly detailed surfaces.
Structural
elements, pipes and equipment can be modeled with part table libraries (ISO,
DIN etc.). All the modeled objects can divide into groups / layers. Moreover it
is possible to assign some additional information to the objects. This type of
3D models is usually called Building Information Model (BIM).

- Autodesk AutoCAD
- Bentley MicroStation

- Catia
- Plant 4D
- And any other type of CAD and BIM (Building Information Model) software
